Fantastic. Sounds like our postgame shows. Too bad you can't hear the ones that don't make it on air.

Rollllllland!!!!! (He went deep tonight you know)

Clearly what we really need is a clone combining Erstad's hitting and BA's defense.

Army of clones will bring us pie!

I love the "Rowand" cry from one Zombie in the last-panel riot! Just perfect.

for the record in 2004 Joe Crede batted .239 his SECOND full season. we should have sent him back to AAA, i guess. it takes time to develop into a major leaguer, give BA a chance, give BA some time. everyone on your team can't bat .300.

For the record, the Sox also didn't make the playoffs in 2004.

Very funny, Carl! Pie or no pie - Palehose 7 rocks!

I love Palehose 7 as well, but does anyone else agree with me that this toon is sometimes too hard on the Chi-Sox. I'm a die-hard Sox fan, and I think that the toon could celebrate more of the good things that this team is doing instead of constantly complaining about every...single...decision that could be debated; correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that a Cubs thing to do? Wrigley is sinking fast this year (it's a beautiful thing!).

Go Sox!

uh oh, someone's sarcasm meeter needs to be recalibrated. Maybe the radar gun on the palehose 7 ship needs to recalibrated too, right Bobby?

Nicely done. Anyone else think the Ranger needs a raise due to all the crap he has to deal with?

No. He just needs to learn how to hang up on people like Dave Wills did.

I'm sorry, but who is the Ranger supposed to be?

Don't quote me on this, but I believe he's supposed to be the resident optimist.I don't think he's anyone in particular.

I'm a relative PH6/7 newbie, so I'm not exactly up to speed with every character. But from what I observed, he's just trying to control the zombies' damage by being optimistic.

In this case, however, it backfired.

I also love how the 'zombies' turn normal for a moment when they hear that Thome is hurt.

You are right that The Ranger is the eternal optimist, but he is a real person. The Ranger is Chris Rongey who hosts the post-game show after every game on the Score.

Great strip Carl!

I say: It's a comic strip, it's supposed to be, and is funny. And you have it backwards, if you want a love fest go to the north side and root for the lovable losers who can do no wrong... You have your head so far up the sox butt you can see bruce levine. WE WANT MORE PIE AND WE'LL ACCEPT NOTHING LESS!!!

...and nice groundout BA

One of the funniest I've seen this year. The last panel had some nice touches. Keep up the good work, Carl.

Carl an idea for your next strip.

a chalk outline of Danks in the first panel surrounded by Captin Hand Dye Thome Paulie Crede and
A.J.

Panel 2 is some one aske whats wrong

Panel 3 Captain looking distraught
says "Lack of Run support" while the crew looks befuddled

Anyone check the standing lately? Looks like your Suxxies postponed the game to avoid being hammered two days in a row...

5:10 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

yes and they've postponed the rest of the season against the tigers out of FEAR. Be very afraid.

yeah congratulations on your first sweep of the Sox in quite a while. Sorry that it doesn't happen quite as often as our 3-game sweeps against your tiggers. Remember when Kansas City swept you guys at the end of the year to screw you out of the division? That was funny.

I love this strip. When can I buy a captain hand poster?

Ha. You're my hero.

I am a staunch BA supporter but he's frustrating the hell out of me because he has so many chances to be a hero and he's grounding/striking out every time. Or making errors. He needs to FOCUS.

I said BA belongs in AAA. Maybe not, but he should sit the bench and get to play when the game is not on the line, or in late game defense, or to occasionaly rest a starter or better player if hurt (yes-like makowiak who hits better).

BA is a valuable asset - ON THE BENCH

GGGRRROOOOAAANNNN!!!!!

Whether BA is in AAA or the Majors, he needs to get consistent AB's and the support of the club behind him. If that won't happen in a Sox uniform, then so be it... I really wonder if BA has any trade value left though...
